Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information PDFMinter collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Last updated: September 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to pdfminter.com (the “Site”) and the PDFMinter app available on it (together, the “Service”). “PDFMinter”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of the Service. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details — your username, email address and password (passwords are stored in encrypted, hashed form; we cannot read them).
  • Content you create — PDF projects, text, images you upload, saved ideas, tracked topics and share links.
  • Messages — anything you send us by email or through forms.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage records — the topics you search, PDFs you export and share links you create, with dates. We use these to apply fair-use limits, show your recent activity and understand how the Service is used.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring page and similar information recorded by our servers and security tools.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see section 4.

Payment information

If we offer paid plans, payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We receive confirmation of your payment and limited billing details, but we never see or store your full card number.

2. How we use information

  • To provide and run the Service — creating your account, saving your projects, generating PDFs and share links.
  • To apply usage limits and protect the Service against spam, abuse and fraud.
  • To reply to your messages and provide support.
  • To improve the Service using aggregated statistics.
  • To show advertising on the Site (see section 5).
  • To comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Use.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Trend searches

When you search a topic, our server requests public search suggestions and trend data from third-party services such as Google, YouTube, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Amazon, Google Trends, Reddit and Wikipedia. These requests are sent from our server and contain only the topic you typed — not your name, email address, IP address or cookies. Results may be stored on our server for a limited time so repeat searches load faster.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use:

  • Essential cookies — to keep you signed in (WordPress login cookies) and to protect our sign-up and login forms from bots (Cloudflare Turnstile).
  • Advertising cookies — set by Google and its partners to show and measure ads (see section 5).
  • Analytics cookies — if we use analytics tools, they help us understand in aggregate how visitors use the Site.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, signing in may not work. Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time.

5. Advertising and Google AdSense

We may display ads on the Site served by Google and its advertising partners.

We do not share the content of your private PDF projects with advertisers.

6. How we share information

  • Service providers who help us run the Service — web hosting (Hostinger), website security (Cloudflare), email delivery, payment processing (Stripe) and advertising (Google). They receive only what they need to do their job and must protect it.
  • Public share links — if you publish a share link for a PDF, anyone with the link can view that PDF until you remove the link.
  • Legal reasons — when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, the public or PDFMinter.
  • Business transfers — if the Service is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.

7. International transfers

Our servers and service providers may be located outside your country, including in Canada, the United States and the European Union. When we transfer personal information across borders we take reasonable steps to make sure it stays protected.

8. How long we keep information

We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to, we delete your projects, saved ideas and shared files, except where we must keep certain records for legal, security or accounting reasons. Usage records are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live (for example under Canada’s PIPEDA, the EU/UK GDPR or California privacy law), you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your information;
  • object to or restrict certain uses, and withdraw consent at any time;
  • receive your information in a portable format.

To make a request, email hello@pdfminter.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line. We may need to verify your identity, and we reply within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority — in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

10. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, spam protection and restricted access to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, let you know on the Site or by email.
